LISA FERET for Colorado House District 24

Military Veteran. Social Worker. Mother.

Dear Neighbors,

It has been an honor to serve as your
Arvada City Councilwoman and I am excited to continue to serve as your State Representative for House District 24!

I have spent my life serving others, through my
military service as a police woman, as a social worker for elderly and disabled people, and through years of emergency management and disaster response. I am running to be your State Representative for the same reason I volunteered to serve my country — to give back and serve you!

You deserve a leader with ground-level experience and strong problem-solving skills to
listen and represent ALL the people of Arvada to advocate for all our needs, like housing, healthcare, and safety from crime and climate. We need the voices of our hard working neighbors at the policy making table!

My core values have always been: work hard, serve others, and speak up. I am excited to continue my service for everyone in the community, no matter their political beliefs or background. I am here to serve all our neighbors

I need your help in getting elected. I cannot do this without your support. Please consider donating to support Team Lisa!

Eternally grateful,

Lisa Feret

LISA’S TOP PRIORITIES

  • Housing

Lisa has demonstrated success in promoting housing equity and accessibility. She believes the best ideas and policies come from communities and organizations working together. By supporting smart transit-based, co-housing, and grant allocations for home repairs, we can create a safer and stronger community. She will move forward on these goals through community partnerships, streamlined collaboration of resources and by reducing barriers to building affordable housing.

    Lisa supports ideas such as:

    • Home-sharing programs

    • Micro-loans and first-time homebuyer programs

    • Transit-oriented development

    • Simplifying zoning requirements and fast-tracking permitting

    • Early interventions to keep people housed rather than be reactive when people are already homeless.

  • Healthcare

Lisa’s experience spans from direct case management to state-level policy making through nonprofit, government and medicaid programs. She has worked in nursing homes, hospitals, and community-based settings to help people remain in their homes and receive proper healthcare. She has piloted and expanded programs to transition people from institutions to communities.

Lisa hopes to bring that ground level perspective and experience to create more effective and efficient programs to our community so we can spend our tax dollars wisely on social programs by:

    • Building up community-based programs rather than nursing home admissions

    • Stronger transitional support from hospitals to the home

    • Preventative care coverage a over reactive-style model

    • Elevating and supporting providers to increase retention and build out the workforce

    • Simplifying healthcare processes and benefits.

  • Emergency Management

Lisa’s unique background as a Military Police Woman as well as in the Emergency Management and humanitarian space spans from responding to floods and fires in Colorado to deploying internationally to war-torn Ukraine and working in refugee camps. Lisa’s experience rooted from her military service has allowed her to better understand policing policies and challenges.

She has advocated for smart public safety programs and climate-forward solutions such as:

    • Promoting local mitigation efforts

    • Planning for more fire and flood resilient developments

    • Developing community preparedness programs.

    • Expanding co-responder programs to ensure people are able to get the help they need to mitigate the low-level crime in the community.

    • Increasing both inpatient and outpatient mental health programs and services

Lisa is committed to working hard and promoting a healthy, safe, vibrant community where we ALL can thrive!
